Field Notes & Updates |

The mild, mostly dry winter is continuing in most of the Central Plains. One thing to keep a watch on is the potential for stripe rust development this winter in south Texas because of the moisture and mild temperatures they've had. No stripe rust has been reported yet in Texas, but it has been found in NE Arkansas. This is unusually early. Stripe rust in Arkansas does not normally affect Kansas or Oklahoma. If it is reported in Texas, I'll let you know here. -- Steve Watson
